In OT mercy was granted by the victim. The wages of sin is death, not eternal torment. Does death have purpose? Mourning is powerful. Till you accept you, you will never know that God accepts you. When my opinion of me matches God's opinion of me, death is different. Every life experience is an opportunity to reveal my worth. It is not a test. Worthiness is the answer to sinfulness. When I know my worth, I can act worthily.

It takes a revelation to know Christ. "Christ in us" is a deeper level of consciousness into which we are called. God uses good and evil. He created both. His wrath is for but a moment. These aspects of God are key: purpose, plan, power, pleasure, way, will, and works.

Instead of a curse, God gave a description of what would happen. In repentance, sorrow is easy; changed thinking is hard. Contrast substance and the lack thereof: darkness is the absence of light; fear is the absence of love. Atonement makes a new mindset possible.

What did atonement accomplish? What was its intent and extent. How does the prevailing, current view of atonement compare with earlier views? Atonement reflects the nature of God.

We are spirit beings having a human experience. God is pure love and full consciousness. Our problems derive from not knowing our identity. We are one; I am my brother. Salvation is an awakening from deception.

How you see God's reign determines your view of sovereignty. At the end what counts is our connection with love. Our view of God is the source of evil. Sovereignty, and freedom are related. You can't be free and feel liable to God's power.
